Knaresborough (you don't pronounce the "K")is a beautiful riverside community about three miles from Harrogate. This picturesque village is situated on the river Nid and has retained lots of its "old world" charm. The view of the Viaduct has got to be one of the most photographed places in England.
In this picture of the Viaduct you can see a train going across the bridge. The white building by the riverside is where we always eat lunch when we visit Knaresborough.
The boats are neatly lined up - just waiting to take someone on a trip down the river. A perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

The Castle, although mostly in ruins, is still an interesting place to visit. There are Guides available to take you on a tour. They also entertain visitors with a detailed description of the Castle's interesting history.
When the Cherry trees are in bloom it is a beautiful sight to see. My sister, Irene, took this photo.
