Holy Trinity Church, York
|
Holy Trinity Church at Goodramgate was built in the 13th century. Some of the glass dates back to the 16th century. This small Church is very peaceful and is surrounded in silence, except for the birds singing. This is pretty amazing because it is located right in the middle of the City of York, just off a very busy road.

The interior of Holy Trinity Church is very impressive. The wooden seats are arranged in cubicles where families could sit together.

The book that I bought in York Minister tells that Holy Trinity Church was originally part of a priory which was founded in 1089. It was damaged by fire in 1137, rebuilt in the 12th and 13th century, and restored in the 19th century. The arcade dates back to the 13th century. The stocks still remain in the Churchyard.
